How to Connect Facebook & Instagram to Axis Unified Inbox

Step 1: Log into Meta Business Suite

Go to https://business.facebook.com

Log in using your Facebook credentials (must be an admin of the Page)

Step 2: Connect Instagram to Your Facebook Page

If your Instagram is already linked, skip to Step 3.

In Meta Business Suite, go to Settings (bottom left)

Navigate to Business Assets > Instagram Accounts

Click Add and log in to your Instagram Business Account

Select the Facebook Page you want to link

Confirm the connection

Step 3: Enable Messaging Permissions for Axis

Axis Unified Inbox requires messaging permissions to sync data from Facebook and Instagram.

Visit your Facebook Business Integrations

Locate and click on Axis Unified Inbox (or related app)

Ensure the following permissions are enabled:

Manage and access Page conversations

Access messages from Instagram

Access and manage comments

Show Pages you manage

Click Save

Step 4: Connect Your Accounts in Axis Unified Inbox

Log in to your Axis Unified Inbox dashboard

Go to Settings > Channels > Facebook/Instagram

Click Connect or Add Account

You’ll be redirected to Meta for authentication

Select your Facebook Page and Instagram Business Account

Grant all requested permissions

You’ll be redirected back to Axis, and the channels will display as “Connected”

Step 5: Test the Integration

Send a test message from:

Your Facebook Page Inbox

Your Instagram Direct Messages

Check Axis Unified Inbox to confirm the messages appear

Reply to verify two-way communication is working
